An undertaking. That's the best way I can classify this.
I had to sign my name a few dozen times under a label which read "[Full Name], an unmarried woman." Therefore, I am oh so aware that taking on an 84-year-old home by myself is crazy, unexpected, and a slew of other words. Good news is that it's only 912 square feet. I like to believe that there's a square footage to breakage ratio. Don't crush my beliefs.

Before move-in, there are some must-dos. These aren't must-dos because they're necessary, but more because they are the biggest pain after move in.
- Foundation work - This house is a pier and beam so foundation work is more reasonable than a slab. It needs some adjusting, and while you can absolutely live in a house while the foundation is being adjusted, it affects my second item.
- Wood refinishing - Anyone who had wood floors refinished will tell you that this is near impossible while living in the house. This is happening after foundation in case the adjustments causes a board to buckle.
- Interior paint - I know what you're thinking: "That was a typo. She meant exterior paint." I wish. But exterior paint can happen after I move-in. Interior paint includes trim, walls, ceilings, cabinets. Having to work around furniture, new floors, etc. would make this more expensive after move-in.
